Sparkling Saturdays: Popped Up Floral Birthday

Welcome to another Sparkling Saturday! Today I will be sharing with you a floral birthday card I made for one of my friends that incorporates dimensional techniques. It looks fancy and complicated, but it's not as hard as it seems! I'll share some tips I learned along the way that will hopefully make this proess easier for you.

First, I die cut a white panel using the diagonal stitch border die from Mama Elephant Sew Fancy set. Next, I used various inks to stamp on the layered roses from Altenew Vintage Roses set, along with some of the leaves.

Now comes the dimensional part - I used the letter dies from Lawn Fawn Cole's ABC to spell out the word 'happy'. The set only comes with one 'p' so I used the letter 'r' for my place holder when I was spacing out the letters. Here's a tip: if you use a piece of washi tape to hold the letters before you die cut it, it can help you ensure that the word will be straight and it'll be easier for you to hold and move the word around.

Now it's time to die cut! Remember to remove your place holder letter if you used any, and align your word in an area where there is stamping/color for the best results. After you die cut the word out, save all the pieces! You're going to need them when we start piecing everything back together.

Once your word is cut out, die cut the letters a couple more times on white cardstock. You can also use foam here, but I liked the stability and firmness the cardstock provided. I adhered 3 layers of each layer together and then added the 'colored' letter on top. After this was all done, I pieced it back into the die cut piece and it was finished!

For my finishing touches, I matted this onto a black piece of cardstock to make my simple image stand out more, and adhered it to a coral A2 card base. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins finished off the look.

I hope you enjoyed! I will be entering this into SSS Monday Challenge: Flora and Fauna.
Happy Crafting.
